As health insurance costs and the ranks of the uninsured in New York continue to grow, the Empire Center will be bringing leading national experts to Albany to discuss a promising solution -- consumer-driven health care.
The Empire Center forum, "Consumer-driven Health Care: A Cure for New York's Health Care Woes," will be held Thursday, May 26 from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in the Assembly Parlor (Room 306) at the State Capitol.
Speakers will include:
* Regina E. Herzlinger, a senior fellow at the Manhattan Institute for Policy Research and the Nancy R. McPherson Professor of Business Administration Chair at Harvard Business School;
* Scott Gottlieb, M.D., a resident fellow at the American Enterprise Institute and former senior policy adviser to the Commissioner of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and to the Administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) at the Department of Health and Human Services; and
* Sen. Raymond A. Meier, (R-Utica), chairman of the Senate Committee on Social Services and Children and Families, and co-chair of the Senate Task Force on Medicaid Reform.
