County employees in Westchester earned an average of $80,322 a year in 2012-13, according to a report released by the Empire Center on Thursday. That was the highest paid county employee average in the state.
Two county employees, though, earned over $275,000 and three others earned over $250,000 during that period.
Sullivan County had the lowest average salary in the region at $43,846.
The second highest average salary in the Mid-Hudson was in Putnam County, at $66,537. That was followed by $61,764 in Rockland, $54,319 in Dutchess, $53,293 in Orange, and $45,816 in Ulster County.
Yonkers had the highest average salary for city workers in the region at $68,786. Yonkers also had the highest paid police and fire employees at $116,914. The City of Kingston had the lowest average pay for municipal employees at $42,103. It also had the lowest average salary for police and firefighters, at $69,540.
The highest average salary for a town in the Mid-Hudson in 2012-2013 was $69,822 in Ramapo while the lowest was in Union Vale at $21,058.
The highest average salary in villages in the region was in Pelham Manor at $68,083 while the lowest was in Nelsonville at $14,252.
