The state Assembly and Senate spent a total of $113,347,185 on member offices and legislative operations between October 2017 and March 2018, according to data posted today at SeeThroughNY.net, the Empire Center’s government transparency website.
These expenses included over $3 million in bulk postage for the Senate, and $2.7 million for the Assembly, up from $1.6 million and $1.1 million, respectively, during the same period last year, a non-election year. The Senate spent $406,220 on travel, while the Assembly spent more than $1 million. In total, the Legislature spent over $1.1 million on copying and printing, and roughly the same amount on telecommunications services and equipment.
