A Port Authority police sergeant earned more than $160,000 in overtime pay last year, and is on track to easily surpass that in 2012, according to a New York Post report.
Figures listed on SeeThroughNY.com show that Sgt. Edwin Rivera earned $166,035 in overtime on top of his $107,000 base salary in 2011. Those earnings made him the highest earner of any Port Authority employees, including administrators.
Figures for 2012 were not immediately available, but an unidentified agency official told the Post that Rivera is currently on track to eclipse his take from last year.
Rivera lives on Staten Island, but supervises police who work on the PATH trains that run from New York City to northern New Jersey.
In 2011, Port Authority paid out more than $90 million in overtime to its more than 7,300 full-time employees, with nearly half going to its police department…..
