Five retired Capital Region public school administrators were among the top 100 highest paid educators in New York state for the 2010-2011 school year.
The Empire Center for Public Policy has released salaries for nearly 374,000 school employees working outside of New York City.
Three retirees from the South Colonie Central School District made the list including former director of information technology John Adams Jr., whose $337,093 in earnings ranked 11th in the state.
The next highest Capital Region educator was David Foust, South Colonie’s former athletics director, whose $275,800 in earnings ranked 42nd.
Next on the list was Alicia Henry, a retired elementary school principal from the Fonda-Fultonville Central School District, who was paid $263,122. Her compensation ranked 63rd in the state, narrowly beating Beverly Miller, a retired assistant superintendent from South Colonie by $14.
Recently retired Niskayuna Central Schools Superintendent Kevin Baughman ranked 75th with $255,193 in earnings.
The Empire Center’s database details pay for school administrators, teachers and staff for the 12-month period that ended on June 30, 2011.
