A private investor, consultant, and opinion contributor, Andrew Sidamon-Eristoff’s public career includes service as a member of the Council of the City of New York, NYC Finance Commissioner, NYS Tax and Finance Commissioner, and NJ State Treasurer. As Treasurer, Andrew played a major role in developing landmark pension and health benefits reforms, designed and implemented performance budgeting, drafted a major business tax reduction package, advanced significant procurement process reforms, managed several major privatization initiatives, restructured the State’s IT governance configuration, and oversaw debt and financial management reforms that achieved budget savings and eliminated the State’s exposure to risky derivatives.
Sidamon-Eristoff is a member of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York’s Committee on State and Local Taxation. He is also a former President of the North Eastern States Tax Officials Association, board member of the Federation of Tax Administrators, and the Internal Revenue Service’s Electronic Tax Administration Advisory Committee.
A native of New York City, Sidamon-Eristoff earned a bachelor’s degree, cum laude, in politics from Princeton University and a juris doctor degree cum laude from Georgetown University Law Center. He holds an LL.M. in Taxation from Washington University in St. Louis School of Law and an Advanced Professional Certificate in Information Technology from New York University.
