Hudson Valley municipalities pay their employees some of the top salaries in upstate New York, according to a newly released study.
Citing data from the New York State and Local Retirement System based on regular, overtime pay and unused vacation time, Empire Center’s 2018 “ What They Make ” report determined which town, city, and village employees are getting paid the most.
Pension contributions, health insurance, and other benefits were not factored into the data. The study includes the average pay of employees, the number of employees and where the municipalities land in the region.
The study only contains data from departments in upstate New York, which was deemed any municipality north of Westchester and Rockland counties.
