When it comes to villages paying employees, Fredonia tops the list in Chautauqua County.
In Chautauqua County, there are 15 incorporated villages: Bemus Point, Brocton, Cassadaga, Celoron, Cherry Creek, Falconer, Forestville, Fredonia, Lakewood, Mayville, Panama, Sherman, Silver Creek, Sinclairville and Westfield.
According to the state website SeethroughNY.net, in 2012, 22 of the top 25 highest paid village employees in Chautauqua County work for Fredonia, including nine of the top 10. The highest paid village employee is the Fredonia Police Chief who made $89,333 in 2012.
Fredonia police/fire employees were listed two to four, followed by the Lakewood-Busti Police Chief at five, earning $82,897. Placing sixth and seventh were Fredonia police/fire employees, followed by the Fredonia village administrator at eighth and Fredonia police/fire employees at ninth through 11th respectively.
The Westfield Electric Superintendent came in at 12th place, earning $76,638. In 13th through 18th were Fredonia police/fire employees. In 19th place was a Brocton sewer/water employee earning $70,638, followed by two Fredonia general employees, then a Fredonia police/fire employee at 22nd, the Fredonia water superintendent at 23rd, followed by a Fredonia police/fire employee at 24th and a Fredonia general employee at 25th.
The Fredonia police/fire employee at 24th is the highest paid female, Amy Noble, earning $66,981. The other 23 employees above her are all males….
