A Westchester hospital executive was paid $1.85 million last year, the highest salary charted in the 10,357,902 payroll records on SeeThroughNY, the Empire Center’s transparency website.

Michael D. Israel, who has served as President and CEO of Westchester County Health Care Corporation (WCHCC) since 2005, was paid $1.85 million by the Corporation during 2014. Israel also held the previous record, after he was paid $1.54 million in 2013.

The pay data, obtained from the Office of the State Comptroller and added to SeeThroughNY.net today, includes 14,017 records from public authorities and entities whose payrolls were certified by the Comptroller since the last data set was added to SeeThroughNY in January. The data also show:

• The New York City Energy Efficiency Corporation, which “develops financing solutions to enable projects that save energy or reduce greenhouse gases,” paid its 11 employees an average of $136,646.
• The Long Island Power Authority paid ten of its employees more than Governor Andrew Cuomo’s $179,000 salary.
• Including Israel, ten hospital employees were paid over $500,000 by WCHCC or Erie County Health Center Corporation.
