Employment and wage growth between March 2011 and March 2012 was below the national average in most of New York’s largest counties, according to the quarterly census of employment and wages released today by the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
Here’s a breakdown showing how New York counties ranked out of 328 large counties in the national sample:
In terms of combined job and wage growth, the bright spot in the Empire State was Saratoga County, where employment growth ranked 40th and wage growth 69th in the nation. The worst combinations of job and wage growth were seen in Albany, Broome and Oneida counties.
